Volusia, Flagler ready for near solar eclipse
On Monday, the 70-mile-wide “path of totality” — where the moon’s shadow completely eclipses the sun — will travel east from Oregon to South Carolina, taking about 90 minutes to traverse the nation. The farther away observers are from that path, the less of an eclipse they will see. In Volusia and Flagler counties, stargazers should be able to witness almost 90 percent of the eclipse at about 2:50 p.m., Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Physics and Astronomy professor Jason Aufdenberg said.
